Packers TE Josiah Deguara Placed on IR (ACL)

As the Packers continue preparing for their road trip to the Sunshine State this week, there were a few moves the team made yesterday. Green Bay has put tight end Josiah Deguara on injured reserve with a torn ACL; with that injury, he will miss the remainder of the season. They also put practice squad center Jake Hanson on IR with an undisclosed injury.

They did add a new undrafted rookie wide receiver in Kalija Lipscomb to the practice squad. He played at Vanderbilt and was originally signed by the Kansas City Chiefs. While in college, Lipscomb finished second in school history with 22 touchdown catches, fifth in receptions with 198, and eighth in receiving yards with 2,356. Green Bay’s roster currently sits at 50 members, three under the limit.

FIRST FANS

For the first time this season, the Packers will play a game in front of a paying audience. Tampa has allowed fans since their October 4th home game against the Chargers, when 6,000 mostly long-time season ticket holders were allowed in. This week, Raymond James Stadium is hoping to allow up to 16,000 fans. Theoretically, the stadium could be at full capacity after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis lifted the state’s event attendance restrictions, but the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars have both said they would maintain their limited attendance positions. Even with just 16,000 in attendance, it would still be a new element to a strange season for Green Bay. “The guys are looking forward to…playing in front of some people” head coach Matt LaFleur says. “I think even though it’s going to be a limited number of people, I think just the opportunity to kind of get a little bit a feel of what is normal to them…I think it will be good for us.
