ESPN La Crosse Station Information

ESPN La Crosse and ESPN Sparta consists of 3 terrestrial radio signals and a 24 hour live stream (certain live-sports blackouts apply).

ESPN La Crosse, WFBZ is broadcast on 105.5 FM with a signal of 2,100 watts, licensed to the Town of Trempealeau, serving the licensed area including the La Crosse and Winona areas.

ESPN Sparta, WKLJ, largely simulcasts ESPN La Crosse programming and carries independent coverage of Sparta Spartan football, basketball and baseball – this is broadcast on 1290 AM with a daytime signal of 5,000 watts, nighttime 59 watts — and a repeating translator of this signal is found on 102.1 FM with a signal of 250 watts.  WKLJ is licensed to the City of Sparta and serves the Sparta and surrounding area.

ESPN La Crosse is a full-time affiliate of the ESPN Radio Network, the exclusive radio home to some of the nation’s biggest sporting events including the College Football Playoff and nearly all of College Football’s Bowl games, the World Series and the NBA Finals, in addition to Sunday Night Baseball, Sunday afternoon NFL games and numerous other broadcasts from the NBA, MLB and College Football and Basketball.

ESPN La Crosse is the Coulee Region’s exclusive affiliate of the Badger Sports Network, carrying all Badger Football and Men’s Basketball games, plus, select Women’sBasketball and Men’s Hockey games, Coach’s Shows and more.

Local high school sports coverage, including Football and Basketball, focusing on the MVC and Coulee Conferences. ESPN La Crosse devotes 5-hours every Friday night in the Fall to High School Football coverage, including the most comprehensive pregame and post game coverage offered in the area.

ESPN La Crosse is home to the Sports Lead, a 2-hour live and local sports program, hosted by area sportscasting veteran John Pappadopoulos, whose extensive resume includes long-time play-by-play stints with the La Crosse Loggers of the Northwoods League and a stop with the Memphis Redbirds, Minor League Baseball’s Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.  The show can be heard every weekday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00.
