Vikings Trade DE Ngakoue to Baltimore

By Adam Roberts – 10/22/2020

With a 1-5 record, the Minnesota Vikings appear to be entering the bye week in a mood to deal.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted this morning that the Vikings were trading defensive end Yannick Ngakoue to the Baltimore Ravens for a 2021 third-round draft pick and a 2022 conditional fifth-round draft pick.

Minnesota had acquired Ngakoue back on August 30th in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars that sent a 2021 second rounder and 2022 conditional fifth-rounder to Duvall, but as a Maryland native it seems Yannick has landed in the place he wanted to be from the get-go.

The defense in Baltimore now features Ngakoue and Calais Campbell, who were teammates in Jacksonville before both were dealt in the offseason. They were both critical pieces to that 2017 Jags team that was a drive away from the Super Bowl.

The Ravens are also on a bye this week, and so assuming Ngakoue clears COVID protocols he’ll be available for Week Eight against Pittsburgh.
