A member of the Mike Budenholzer assistant coaching family is moving on to a new opportunity, and he won’t have to travel very far for it.
Assistant coach Josh Longstaff will join Billy Donovan’s staff in Chicago, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. It will be the fourth NBA team Longstaff has served as an assistant for, with previous stints with Milwaukee, the Knicks, and Thunder under his belt as well. Longstaff was noted for his work in Latvia with at-the-time Knicks’ quard Kristaps Prozingas during the EuroBasket 2017 event.
As the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Matt Velazquez noted on Twitter, the move may be to open up a spot for Josh Oppenheimer on the Bucks’ staff. Oppenheimer was a former assistant in Milwaukee during the Larry Drew and Jason Kidd regimes.
