Two more Packers won’t be available Thursday should the team’s scheduled game against San Francisco play out as scheduled.
Both running back Jamaal Williams and linebacker Kamal Martin have been deemed by the NFL to be high-risk close contact with rookie running back A.J. Dillon, who on Monday it was announced had tested positive for COVID-19. As high-risk close contacts, Martin and Williams will need to be isolated and remain away from the facility for at least five days after their last contact with the infected individual. The two were in close contact with Dillon during the team’s 28-22 loss Sunday to the Vikings, and will be eligible to rejoin the team this Saturday. Another important note is that there were no new positive tests for the team today.
The Packers running back corps is now down to just Dexter Williams and Tyler Ervin. Aaron Jones is still recovering from a calf injury, and his status for Thursday is still not known. At this time, no change has been announced as it pertains to the Packers-49ers game, but of course we will follow the story closely and pass along any information as it becomes available.
