NBA Investigating Failed Bucks Trade

The NBA is investigating the failed trade for Bogdan Bogdanovic between the Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings for tampering.

Sacramento agreed to send Bogdanovic to Milwaukee in exchange for Donte DiVincenzo, D.J. Wilson and Ersan Ilyasova. However, Bogdanovic is a restricted free agent this season and never agreed to the trade. It had been thought that potentially this news was leaked by the organizations to stave off talk of tampering, but the official league investigation would seem to indicate otherwise. The NBA free agency period had not yet begun at the time of the trade, and isn’t set to begin until later this evening. Milwaukee likely will not be able to acquire Bogdanovic even with free agency open. According to reports, he is looking to test the market.

In light of the trade dissolution, the Bucks have waived Ilyasova, declining the seven-million-dollar team option.

All of this news comes on the same day that Giannis can officially sign his super max, though this trade falling apart may not make the decision as cut and dry as some might think. Giannis has until December 21st, one day before the season starts, to sign it.
