The NBA is implementing sensor devices to help with contact tracing.

ESPN reports the league will require players, coaches, and select staff members to wear the contact sensors during all team-organized activities outside of games including on the team plane, team bus, during practices and other team-related travel. The devices will be implemented January 7th, and players and staff will be subject to discipline for not wearing them. The sensors will not record GPS location but will activate when coming within close proximity to another person wearing one.

Milwaukee’s first game after the implementation will be Friday, January 8th at home against the Utah Jazz.
