Just days after acquiring veteran offensive tackle Jared Veldheer from the Colts, the Packers had to place him on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Veldheer tested positive for COVID-19 but thankfully he reportedly didn’t expose any other players after contract tracing was done. Per ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the team’s next step is to wait out each day of daily COVID tests before the Packers’ playoff opener to make sure there are no more positive tests. Veldheer was signed off the Colts’ practice squad on Monday and practiced with the team on Tuesday but not Wednesday. Veldheer was in meetings with the offensive linemen, but since their large auditorium serves as the o-line media room at the moment none of the team’s other linemen are considered close contacts.
The Packers hope to have everyone available for Saturday’s divisional round matchup against the Rams.
