Winona State Men’s Basketball Weekend Games Cancelled

By Adam Roberts – 1/14/2021

As we’ve seen in the NBA the last few weeks, not playing games in a bubble can make for a difficult time suppressing the spread of COVID-19. Winona State is finding this out the hard way as well, though through no fault of their own.

Once again this weekend, their planned games have been cancelled, this time due to COVID-19 testing protocols at the University of Sioux Falls, whom the Warriors had been scheduled to face tomorrow and Saturday. According to a school release, the team is actively trying to find a team to play this weekend. Per NSIC guidelines, the games will not be rescheduled.

The Warriors so far have only been able to play one game this season against Minnesota-Duluth, an 81-59 loss on January 2nd.
