Perhaps Mother Nature is a baseball fan. That’s the only way I can correlate the rise in temperatures around the area from the throat-burning cold of the last week to the arrival of the Brewers in Arizona for the start of spring training.
Ahead of their arrival in Maryvale, the Crew made a deal this week for pitcher Brett Anderson, but the open spot in the infield at third base remains a question mark on the organization. Earlier today Bill Scott of the Wisconsin Radio Network said manager Craig Counsell will be taking a look at using Luis Urias at short while Orlando Arcia will play some time at the open third base position. Fans of course perked their ears up when learning that Travis Shaw would be making the trip, but it could be more of a depth option for February and March than any serious move to put Shaw at third for the regular season.
