Black River Falls Golf Advances To State

By Adam Roberts – 6/9/2021

As the temperatures warm up, I long to get out on the links and play my first full round of golf for the year. It’s also around this time that I get excited for the WIAA state golf tournament. While I have been a part of one state football championship, I much more closely relate to the feeling of getting ready to compete at and then playing on University Ridge.

And while the tournament is being held at Trappers Turn in the Dells instead this year, one area team will get a chance to experience those butterflies that only a state championship can bring.

Black River Falls finished second place in their Division Two sectional yesterday with a 328 team score, behind only Lakeland Union with a 323. Junior Mike Antonelli was the second best golfer on the day with a one-over 73.

In Division One, Tomah’s Hunter Neumann will represent the Coulee Region as an individual after shooting a 77 on Monday at Blackhawk Country Club.
