Former Badger D’Mitrik Trice Joining Bucks For NBA Summer League

By Adam Roberts – 8/2/2021

While it won’t guarantee a spot on the regular season or even preseason roster, it will be interesting to see what a former Badger can bring to the table with the defending NBA champs.

D’Mitrik Trice will be joining the Bucks in Las Vegas for the 2021 Summer League, which starts August 8th at UNLV. The Bucks will open things up on the ninth against the Clippers, and then face the Nets on the 11th.

Trice had statistically his best scoring season with the Badgers during the 2020-21 campaign. In 33.3 average minutes played, he averaged just under 14 a game shooting 41% from the field and a tick under 80% at the free throw line.

Before Milwaukee arrives in Sin City, they still have some matters to attend to as far as payroll is concerned. The current understanding is that the team is trying very hard to bring back P.J. Tucker for another season while also considering how they can bring Bobby Portis back. Portis will be a tough name to re-sign, since it’s widely accepted he is going to try and get paid this offseason.
