Tell me if this sounds familiar from last year: a sporting event will have no general admission fans due to COVID concerns.
There will be no general admission fans in attendance at the Little League World Series this year. Little League International announced today it made the difficult decision because of the rising number of COVID-19 cases caused by the highly-contagious Delta variant. President and CEO Stephen Keener said they will limit people in the stands in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to family and friends of the 16 participating teams.
The tournament starts August 19th and concludes at the end of this month. There was no tournament last year because of the pandemic.
