It would appear that Packers receiver Devin Funchess may never see the field for Green Bay.
Funchess was placed on injured reserve today due to a lingering hamstring issue according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky. He hasn’t played in an NFL regular season game since the first week of 2019 while with the Carolina Panthers. He was on the bubble for a wide receiver spot this year, competing with names like Malik Taylor and Clemson rookie Amari Rodgers.
Demovsky says Funchess could only play again this season if he accepts an injury settlement and is waived. But Demovsky says the Packers have no plans to bring him back.
Also today, Green Bay added defensive lineman Abdullah Anderson and first-year cornerback Stephen Denmark from Valdosta State while releasing receiver Chris Blair.
