Those players in the NBA who choose not to receive a COVID-19 vaccine before the start of the 2021-22 season may find it tough or impossible to enter certain facilites around the league this year.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania tweeted today that according to league sources, unvaccinated players in markets with local requirements will not be allowed to enter home arenas or facilities for games or team activities conducted there unless they have an approved medical or religious exemption. Some examples include the Knicks and Nets in the Eastern Conference and Golden State in the West, where their new home San Francisco has a local vaccine requirement to enter facilities.
Charania clarified that visiting players are exempt from the requirements in New York City and San Francisco.
