Report: NBA Players Won’t Be Required To Get Vaccinated

It appears Bucks players won’t be required to get a COVID-19 vaccine before hitting the hardwood this season.

ESPN reports that the NBA won’t have a mandate in place as the league and NBPA negotiate COVID-related protocols ahead of the new campaign. The report also notes most players are already fully vaccinated.

The NBA does require staff and referees to roll up their sleeves. And some teams like the Warriors, Nets, and Knicks have policies in place that unvaccinated players would have to miss home games per local ordinances.

The new season tips off on October 19th with the Bucks hosting the Nets on championship banner night.
