It can be so easy in the fall with the mind focused squarely on Packer/Badger/UWL football and Brewers playoff baseball that there are still other great sports happening right now.
One of those sports that a number of teams in the La Crosse area excel at is volleyball, where the West Salem, Aquinas, and Holmen girls teams are all making a case for deep postseason runs. It also runs strong at the collegiate level, where Viterbo is now the second ranked team in the NAIA and showing no signs of stopping.
The V-Hawks picked up a straight sets win over Presentation College last night for win number 22 on the year and 15 in a row. Miah Garant led Viterbo in kills with 10 followed by nine from Holmen alum Kenzie Winker.
The V-Hawks are scheduled to play Mayville State tomorrow at R.W. Beggs Gymnasium.
