Civil Charges Possible Against Brett Favre For Welfare Fund Non-Repayment

Brett Favre, one of Wisconsin’s sports heroes, has been in his fair share of negative spotlights since retiring from football in 2011. Many of those negative spotlights, including this most recent one, involve money troubles.

The legendary NFL quarterback still owes a lot of money in his home state of Mississippi. The state auditor says Favre owes more than 800-thousand-dollars as he didn’t repay welfare funds. A statement from Shad White noted Favre could be hit with civil charges if he doesn’t pay up in the next 30 days.

An audit said Favre was paid for speeches, but he didn’t show up for them.

Another notable name was included in letters sent by the auditor today was former WWF/E wrestler Ted Dibiase, who reportedly owes over 722,000 dollars that his Christian ministry, Heart of David Ministries, received.
