After nine seasons on the coaching staff, six as manager, Brian Lewis and the La Crosse Loggers have mutually agreed to part ways.
In Lewis’s place the team will turn to Rob Sidwell, a name that may be familiar to some in baseball scouting circles. He has scouting experience with a number of major league organizations including the Pirates, Mets, Padres, and most recently the Dodgers. Perhaps his most notable signing was Andrew McCutchen, the 2013 NL MVP for Pittsburgh.
Lewis of course is a main stay in the La Crosse baseball community, with managerial work at Viterbo University in addition to the Loggers. “We are forever grateful to Coach Lewis for all of his efforts that he put in to help hundreds of Logger players advance their careers over the past nine seasons,” said team president Chris Goodell. “Brian, as well as pitching coach Tom Kinney, have been and always will be a part of the Loggers family and we wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors.”
We’ll learn more about the Loggers’ 2022 schedule next month.
