Brewers Base Coach Ed Sedar Announces Retirement

By Adam Roberts – 10/25/2021

While he was absent from the field this season doing work as an advisor to the Brewers’ coaching staff, fans at American Family Field over the last 15 years and watching on TV could count on seeing Ed Sedar holding or waving around base runners for the Brewers.

Sedar has worked with the Brewers organization for a very long time, and has decided today that it’s time to hang it up.

Sedar announced his retirement earlier this morning, ending a 30 year run with the club. Before becoming a public face for fans at first base in 2007, he previously was a baserunning coordinator in the minor leagues from 1992-2006. Sedar also managed for both the Ogden, Utah and Helena, Montana Brewers’ rookie-level teams on and off between 1998 and 2006. Prior to this year, he could be seen emphatically circling runners home since 2011.
