While the Packers took care of business yesterday against the Washington Football Team 24-10, they are about to enter a short week against objectively the best team in the NFL at the moment. And they will now also be getting ready for that game against Arizona without their defensive coordinator on site or making the trip to the desert.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo tweeted this morning that Joe Barry has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be unable to travel on a short week to the Cardinals game. Barry will be a part of planning via virtual means this week.
Per the league’s COVID protocols, Barry will require two negative tests 24 hours apart before he could return in-person to activities. With the Packers set to fly out to Arizona on Wednesday, it appears unlikely that Barry will be able to test negative once today and once tomorrow.
In a bit of positive news, it appears as though the Packers were able to work out some defensive issues yesterday. The red zone has been a week spot this season, but against Washington the Packers forced four straight red zone stops.
