The Vernon County Historical Society presents: “The Amish in Wisconsin”
Held at the Vernon County Museum & History Center – corner of S. Main & E South Sts., Viroqua.
Local historian Larry Scheckel will present his new program about the rich Amish culture and their unique place in American history and lore.
The Old Order Amish came from Ohio and arrived in southern Monroe County and northern Vernon County starting in 1966.
Hear about their distinctive way of life: baptisms, weddings, funerals, schools, clothing, German language, horse and buggy transportation, music, newspapers, and more.
Program is free. Everyone is welcome.
